why are you apologising? is a trans-disciplinary critical work about the (colonial!) history of eurocentric theatrical dancing and dance-making that aims to challenge the way in which we (average citizens, for the most part) not just read, but think of (imagine!) history. this seriously funny work suggests a way towards liberation by highlighting study as its core methodology. study, an observation based social science with a radically queer and non-white, often oral-based embodied, history.

pavleheidler (they/them) has been dancing-performing, studying, writing, and teaching dancing professionally since early teenage-hood; inevitably considering their varied engagements with the field of experimental dancing and choreography–where choreography is understood to be an expanded practice–as opportunities to continue studying the notion and the practice of (0) embodiment, (1) expression, (2) performativity, (3) relativity/relationality, and (4) successful communication.
